Road-Paving Contract Awarded for Lunenburg County

A paving contract near New Germany in Lunenburg Co. will result in smoother, safer travel for area drivers.

The $1,632,120 contract, awarded to Dexter Construction Co. Ltd., is for repaving on Route 208 from the intersection of Zwicker Mill Road at New Germany for 10.6 kilometres west to the intersection of Upper Branch Road at Hemford.

This route connects Route 208 to Trunk 10 which goes across the province from Bridgewater to Middleton.

The Nova Scotia Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
