Tour Offered in Gully Lake Wilderness Area

Hikers can lace up their shoes and explore the new Gully Lake Wilderness Area in Colchester County on a guided tour on Saturday, July 23.

The hike will be led by Oliver Maass, protected areas co-ordinator for the Department of Environment and Labour. Joan Baxter, author of The Hermit of Gully Lake - the Life and Times of Willard Kitchener MacDonald, will also join the group.

The full-day hiking tour is suitable for physically fit adults and youth. Hikers should bring their own lunch, water, suitable footwear and clothing, and any personal safety supplies.

Gully Lake Wilderness Area is near Mount Thom, Colchester Co. It is one of 33 wilderness areas in Nova Scotia.
