Tender Called for Paving Project in Richmond County

Business operators and residents in the Port Hawkesbury area will be getting a timely economic boost through a road-paving tender announced by the province.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works today, July 13, advertised a tender for repaving on the Industrial Park Road in Point Tupper from the Nova Scotia Power Corporation building for four kilometres to the Anadarko liquified natural gas facility, which is currently in the preliminary stages of construction.

Good roads play a vital role in the economic life of Nova Scotia by allowing for the smooth flow of products and services.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
