Nova Scotia Film and Video Production Guide Now Available

Nova Scotia's film industry resource -- the Nova Scotia Film and Video Production Guide -- is now available. Produced annually by the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation, the 256-page guide contains the who's who in the Nova Scotia film industry, from film crew to industry suppliers and service providers.

"The 2005-06 guide is a comprehensive resource for the local and guest film and television industry," said Ann MacKenzie, chief executive officer of the corporation. "It will help us promote the province as a film-industry centre in Canada by showcasing the crew and resources available here."

Each year 2,000 copies of the guide are produced. The majority of the guides are distributed in response to inquiries generated through marketing and sales activities. They are also distributed throughout the local film industry.

"The guide is invaluable to me when I am working on a production," said Elizabeth Guildford, a freelance production manager. "It is also a wonderful introduction to the province for those who have never filmed here before -- it really emphasizes what we have to offer."

The guide is also available on the corporation's website at www.film.ns.ca/production_guide.asp .
