Colchester East Hants and Pictou County Health Districts Seek Input on Health Services
Residents in the Colchester East Hants and Pictou county health districts are being asked for their input on how the province delivers continuing-care services to infants, children, youth adults and seniors.
"It's important we hear from all Nova Scotians on this important health-care issue," said Health Minister Angus MacIsaac. "The input we receive will help us build a better system."
Continuing-care services include home care, nursing homes, end-of-life care, adult day centres, adult protection, and other services that support people of all ages living in the community.
More than 50 public meetings will be held throughout the province during June and July. Public input and additional research will be used to develop short and long-term plans for continuing-care services.
The public meetings in the Colchester, East Hants and Pictou county areas will be held on June 22 in Pictou and Stellarton; June 23 in Pictou Landing First Nation, Debert, New Glasgow and Indian Brook; June 27 in Elmsdale and Truro; and June 29 in Tatamagouche.
More information about continuing care and a schedule of public meetings is available on the Department of Health website at www.gov.ns.ca/health .
Written submissions will be accepted by e-mail to [email protected], or by mail to Project Manager, Strategic Framework Project, Continuing Care Branch, PO Box 488, Halifax, N.S., B3J 2R8, or by fax to 1-866-544-7700 (toll-free).
