Swain to Address Geared for Growth
Award-winning television journalist Diana Swain will be a keynote speaker at Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI)'s Geared for Growth Business Conference next week.
Presented by Aliant, the conference is taking place Monday, June 13, and Tuesday, June 14, at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax.
"Diana Swain is a nationally respected journalist and we're delighted she will be able to share her unique national and international perspectives with our business community," said Stephen Lund, president and CEO of NSBI. "With Nova Scotia's economy increasingly focused on export and investment opportunities abroad, it's important to hear views from beyond our province and region."
Ms. Swain is currently the host of CBC Television's Canada Now and recently hosted The National in place of Peter Mansbridge. Her many honours include a Gemini Award for best news anchor, a gold medal at the prestigious New York Festival, and a Television Media Award for best TV documentary from B'nai Brith Canada.
She will deliver her address at a luncheon on Monday at the Geared for Growth conference. Other keynote speakers during the two-day conference include Premier John Hamm, Jay Forbes, president and CEO of Aliant Inc., and Mike Lipkin, president of Environics.
In addition to Aliant, other conference sponsors include Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales, Emera, KPMG, Scotiabank, CGI and the Municipality of the County of Richmond.
