NSTU and Department of Education Open Negotiations

The Nova Scotia Teachers Union (NSTU), representing teachers in the public schools of the province, and the Department of Education opened negotiations on a new Teachers' Provincial Agreement today, April 27, at 9:30 a.m.

Education Minister Jamie Muir and NSTU president Mary-Lou Donnelly expressed optimism the talks would produce an agreement in the best interest of public education in Nova Scotia.

As before, the parties have agreed to keep their discussions confidential until the talks have concluded.

The current provincial agreement expires July 31.
