The Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation has added two new people to its board of directors.
Bonnie Kirby of Halifax and James Gogan of Sydney joined the board on March 29, Ms. Kirby as chair and Mr. Gogan as a board member.
"These individuals bring a broad array of skills to the corporation and further round-out the knowledge and perspective that are helping the corporation develop Nova Scotia's film industry," said the Minister responsible for the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation, Ernest Fage.
Ms. Kirby has an extensive business background and is currently the manager of the executive masters program in business administration at Saint Mary's University. Ms. Kirby held the post once before, between 1997 and 2001. Mr. Gogan, a native of Sydney, is a partner with the law firm of Sampson McDougall.
"We are pleased to have such accomplished individuals overseeing the governance of the corporation, and the film and television industry appreciate the generous contribution of personal time by all board members," said Ann MacKenzie, chief executive officer of the film corporation.
Ms. Kirby and Mr. Gogan join current board members Paul MacKinnon of Halifax, Ernest Dick of Granville Ferry, Ken Eisner of Truro, Richard Hebb of Dayspring, and Rita Lamontagne MacDonald of Martin's Point.
The Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation provides a wide range of programs and services to build the capacity and competitiveness of the province's film, television and new media industries.
