New Provincial Budget on April 26

Finance Minister Peter Christie today, April 21, announced he will introduce the government's 2005-06 budget in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly on Tuesday, April 26, beginning at noon.

"This will be our fourth consecutive balanced budget," said Mr. Christie. "We will continue to invest in health care, education and initiatives to strengthen Nova Scotia's economy."

The minister said the province is in a stronger financial position than previous years, but it is continuing with prudent fiscal management.
