New Name for Francophone University

Education Minister Jamie Muir introduced legislation today, April 20, to change the name of Université Sainte-Anne -- Collège de l'Acadie to Université Sainte-Anne.

"We're pleased to respond to the request from the board of governors of Université Sainte-Anne -- Collège de l'Acadie," said Mr. Muir.

The board of governors approved the name change on Jan. 17, 2004, and the formal request for the necessary legislation was made on Oct. 6, 2004.
