Province To Consult With Community On Development
COMMUNITY SERVICES--Province To Consult With Community On Development
The province will work with residents in the Millwood Drive area of Lower Sackville to shape a new affordable housing development planned for the community.
The province announced 72 units of new affordable rental housing for the sub-division last week. Today, April 7, the province agreed to withdraw the current proposal and consult with the community on the scale and design of the development.
"Although we are withdrawing the current proposal," said Community Services Minister David Morse, "we remain committed to building capacity in our communities now to ensure a supply of affordable housing in the long term."
The preliminary concept for a development involved the construction of four, two-storey buildings containing a combination of one- and two-bedroom apartments. The province will develop a new concept following community consultation.
