TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Tender Called for Road Work in Lunenburg and Kings Counties
Drivers in Lunenburg and Kings counties will enjoy smoother, safer travel after improvements are made to Trunk 12 this year.
The provincial government advertised the tender today, March 2, for repaving more than eight kilometres of Trunk 12 in Lunenburg and Kings counties.
"The road improvements will strengthen Trunk 12 and provide residents in the area improved access to goods and services," said Ron Russell, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "This is one of many highways in the province that will be upgraded this year, as road construction season starts up again."
The tender is for paving two sections of Trunk 12. One section is in Lunenburg County, from the Forties Road at New Ross, northerly to Adams Road, about 5.3 kilometres. The other section is in Kings County, from the Lunenburg/Kings County Line, northerly to Legge Road, about 3.1 kilometres.
The tender closes March 24. Work is expected to be complete by Oct. 31.
