Caution Urged For People En Route To Work

The Nova Scotia Emergency Measures Organization is advising
Nova Scotians to use added caution as they proceed to work
today, Jan. 17, during a winter storm.

Visibility is severely limited in places due to blowing snow
and freezing rain across the province, but all highway
clearing equipment is in operation and all highways are open.

"I want everybody to be very careful as they travel to and
from work today," said Ernest Fage, Minister responsible for
Emergency Measures Organization. "This storm may not be as
severe as others we have had, but no one should be lulled into
a false sense of security. The fact is that any inclement
weather has its own risks and challenges. I encourage all Nova
Scotians to be mindful of those who may need some assistance
in the face of this storm, and to lend a hand where they can."
