Legislature Extends Best Wishes to HMCS Chicoutimi
PREMIER'S OFFICE--Legislature Extends Best Wishes to HMCS Chicoutimi
Premier John Hamm and members of the provincial legislature unanimously passed a resolution in the House of Assembly today, Oct. 6, wishing the captain and crew of HMCS Chicoutimi well during their difficult situation.
"Our thoughts are certainly with the crew members and their families," said Premier Hamm. "It's a great relief to know that no one has sustained any serious injuries."
Two British frigates and a tow vessel have reached the submarine and are escorting it safely back to the harbour of Faslane in Scotland.
"I'm sure all Nova Scotians join me in wishing the captain and crew of HMCS Chicoutimi all the best for a safe return to port," said Premier Hamm.
