N.S. Sherbrooke Hosts Road to Celtic Colours Ceilidh
The road to Cape Breton's Celtic Colours International Festival will run through Sherbrooke this year.
On Thursday, Oct. 7, the night before the official Celtic Colours kick-off, master fiddler Jerry Holland will headline the first Road To Celtic Colours Ceilidh at the Sherbrooke Village Courthouse. Mr. Holland will be accompanied by pianist Marian Dewar. Regular Courthouse performers Roly Burton and Bob MacDonald will also join Ellie Burton and George Brothers for the Ceilidh, the season finale of the 2004 Courthouse Concert series.
Series organizer George Brothers says this special Ceilidh will be a fitting way to cap off a successful concert series.
"We're very grateful to the organizers of Celtic Colours for allowing us to associate our event with theirs," said Mr. Brothers. "We're pleased to have artists such as Jerry Holland and Marion Dewar coming to Sherbrooke to perform in our Courthouse. This event will provide people with a preview of the spirit and music that is Celtic Colours. It's an extra opportunity to enjoy some of the best Celtic music available, and in one of the very best sounding rooms in the province."
Tickets for the Ceilidh, which starts at 7:30 p.m., are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. For more information call 1-888-743- 7845.
