Property to Be Sold
The Department of Community Services and the Hope Farm Society have agreed that the Nova Scotia Housing Development Corporation will assume ownership of the society's 160-acre property in Colchester County for the purpose of sale.
Options for meeting the society's outstanding financial obligations were discussed following the closure of Hope Farm in March 2004. The corporation has agreed to sell the property to help the society cover its debts. Any remaining proceeds from the sale will be directed to non-profit addiction treatment programs.
The Department of Community Services' housing division provides administrative support services to the Nova Scotia Housing Development Corporation.
