Province to Support Fishery
The Nova Scotia government is providing financial support to the fishing industry in Port Mouton, Queens Co., a move that will support about 200 jobs.
An interest subsidy worth up to $200,000 a year for five years is being provided to Blue Wave Seafoods Incorporated, a company that specializes in the processing and marketing of underutilized species such as silver hake.
"This investment will support a company trying to grow new products in a traditional industry," said Economic Development Minister Ernest Fage. "We also want to ensure jobs are available to Nova Scotians in rural areas of the province, part of our Opportunities for Prosperity growth strategy."
The subsidy will cover interest payments on the company's business loan.
