Labour Day Remembered

Monday, Sept. 6, is Labour Day, and the government is asking all Nova Scotians to remember that it is a day to honour the role of working people.

"As I visit Nova Scotians and see their successes, I'm always deeply impressed by the talent, creativity and dedication of our workforce," said Premier John Hamm. "We should use Labour Day as it was intended and reflect on these strengths that we share."

Environment and Labour Minister Kerry Morash said that government will continue to make sure that workplaces are healthy and productive. "We're making good progress to ensure our labour laws are fair, balanced and current to the needs of workers," the minister said. "I'm proud as well of the working people in my department, who've pulled together to improve our service delivery to Nova Scotia workers."
