NEW WORK

INVERNESS COUNTY: Trunk 19

Trunk 19, north of River Denys Mountain Road to north of Sandy Gillis Bridge, will have occasional lane closures for repaving, from Tuesday, August 2 to Sunday, October 31. Work will take place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Traffic control will be in place.

CONTINUING WORK

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Route 305

Route 305, Seaview Drive, will have occasional lane closures until Thursday, Sept. 30 while the Leitches Creek Bridge is replaced.

Work will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Traffic control persons will be in place when necessary.

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Trunk 4

There will be periodic lane closures on three kilometres of Trunk 4 near Middle Cape until Wednesday, Nov. 10, for repaving. Work will take place west of Breac Brook Bridge to the top of the hill in Middle Cape, from 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily. Traffic control will consist of a pilot vehicle.

Motorists can expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes where possible.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 102

Two sections of Highway 102 will have intermittent lane closures until Tuesday, Aug. 31. Traffic travelling in northbound lanes will be affected periodically while repaving Work is carried out. Work will take place daily between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Section one begins 1.3 kilometres north of Commo Road, near Stewiacke, and stretches 5.3 kilometres to Shortts Lake Road Multiplate, near Brookfield.

Section two begins from the north side of Robie Structure, near Truro, and stretches 3.4 kilometres to the intersection of Highway 102 and Highway 104.

Traffic control will consist of signage. Motorists are asked to use extra caution while driving in these areas.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 104

Highway 104 will have intermittent lane closures for repaving until Thursday, Sept. 30. Work is being carried out west of Exit 17, near Valley Cross Roads and easterly to the Manganese Mines Overpass. Traffic in eastbound lanes will be affected and lane widths will be reduced in the Exit 17 area. Work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.

Traffic control will consist of signage. Motorists are asked to use extra caution while travelling in this area.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Route 209

Route 209, from North Greville Road westerly, will be reduced to one lane until further notice for ditching and repaving work. Work will take place between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays. Traffic control will consist of traffic control persons.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102

The Highway 102/Trunk 2 Interchange, at Exit 5 near Fall River, will have lane closures until Friday, Oct. 1. Road crews will be carrying out interchange improvements between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. daily.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 103

Blasting will take place on Highway 103, at exits 3 and 4, between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., until September 2004. Both eastbound and westbound motorists may experience short delays. Traffic will be controlled by traffic control persons.

HANTS COUNTY: Elmsdale Bridge

Elmsdale Bridge on Trunk 2 between Elmsdale and Lantz is closed until September 2004. A detour is available around the bridge. Traffic control consists of a detour sign.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101

The speed limit at the St. Croix interchange at Exit 4 is reduced to 80 kilometres per hour until further notice, while bridge and road construction is taking place.

The Port Hastings Rotary on Highway 104 will have lane closures until Sunday, Oct. 31. Road crews will be carrying out repaving work between 7 p.m and 7 a.m weekdays. Traffic control persons will be in place.

Route 395, north of West Lake Ainslie Road to Trout Brook Bridge, will have lane closures until Sunday, Oct. 31 for repaving and bridge work. Work will take place between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. weekdays. Traffic will be controlled by traffic control persons.

KINGS COUNTY: Highway 101 Overpass

The Highway 101 overpass at the Coldbrook Exit 14 will have one- lane closures until Friday, Aug. 6. Closures will be in effect 24 hours a day as road crews carry out bridge repairs. One lane will be open at all times. Traffic control will consist of traffic signals.

KINGS COUNTY: Simpson Bridge

Simpson Bridge on Gaspereau River Road is closed for major repairs. A detour is available. Traffic control consists of signage.

Toney River Bridge on Carmichael Road in Pictou County is closed until further notice. Traffic control consists of signage. A detour is available on Popular Hill Road and Meadowville Station Road.

PICTOU COUNTY: Joudrey Road

The southern end of Joudrey Road, off Route 6 in Pictou West, is closed to all traffic until further notice for bridge inspections.

A detour is available via Mountain Road or Louisville Road. Signs are posted indicating alternate routes.
