Premier's Canada Day Message

Premier John Hamm is wishing Nova Scotians all the best for Canada Day.

"This July 1st marks Canada's 137th birthday," said the premier. "This day provides an excellent opportunity for Nova Scotians to remember all that is great about our country and to celebrate our common values of freedom, tolerance and compassion."

The premier added that the June 28 federal election should reinforce our pride as Canadians.

"I hope all Nova Scotians make their voices heard," he said. "Conflicts occurring in other parts of the world remind us that we are fortunate to live under a system of government that allows for democratic, peaceful elections."
