Road Improvements for Colchester County

TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Road Improvements for Colchester County

The province continues to build better roads for drivers in Colchester County.

A tender has been called to repave 7.8 kilometres of Trunk 2, from Stewiacke northerly to West Shortts Lake Road.

"We're building better roads for drivers in Nova Scotia," said Ron Russell, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "Repaving Trunk 2 is part of our commitment to make our roads safer and stronger."

The tender closes Friday, June 4, with an expected completion date of Sept. 30.

The repaving work on Trunk 2 is in addition to the $2 million in work recently awarded to repave sections of Highway 102 and Upper River John Road.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains an inventory of 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
