PREMIER'S OFFICE--Premier Congratulates Pictou County Native George Canyon

Members of the legislature today, May 3, unanimously passed resolutions congratulating Nova Scotia country music singer George Canyon on his success in reaching the finals of the Nashville Star competition.

Premier John Hamm added his praise for the Hopewell, Pictou Co. resident. "George may have come in second in the formal competition, but he is certainly number one in our books here in Nova Scotia," Premier Hamm said.

Mr. Canyon finished second to Nashville resident Brad Cotter on Saturday's final episode of the show, aired on CMT.
