MLAs Pay Tribute to Battle of the Atlantic

Deputy Premier Ron Russell asked members of the legislature to rise for a moment of silence today, May 3, to remember the fallen and all personnel who participated in the Battle of the Atlantic during the Second World War.

Mr. Russell said in a resolution adopted unanimously by all members of the House, this is "not only a time for remembrance of those who perished during the battle, but is also a time to say goodbye to those who have since passed away."

The Battle of the Atlantic was a critical stage in the Second World War, securing a supply route for the allies across the Atlantic.
