MLAs Pay Tribute to Team Canada Curling Success
Team Canada's gold medal win at the world curling championship drew applause today, April 26, from the Nova Scotia legislature.
Members of the legislature unanimously adopted a resolution introduced by Health Promotion Minister Rodney MacDonald on behalf of Premier John Hamm congratulating Colleen Jones and her teammates at Halifax's Mayflower Curling Club for their victory on Saturday. It's the second world title for Jones and her team of Kim Kelly, Mary-Anne Arsenault and Nancy Delahunt.
"All Nova Scotians and all Canadians are proud of the Mayflower Curling Club for their remarkable success," said Mr. MacDonald.
The legislature also passed a resolution congratulating the Team Canada men's curling team, also from Nova Scotia. Led by skip Mark Dacey, the men's team, including Andrew Gibson, Rob Harris and Bruce Lohnes, won a bronze medal at the world curling championship on Sunday.
