Bringin' It Home Tour Opens in Sherbrooke

East Coast Music Award winners John Campbelljohn and Dave Gunning will present an eclectic evening of acoustic blues/roots music as the Music Industry Association of Nova Scotia (MIANS) begins its Bringin' it Home Tour on Thursday, April 15 at 8 p.m. at the Sherbrooke Courthouse.

The courthouse in Sherbrooke Village is one of three locations for the launch of the three-weekend tour. Opening night concerts will also take place in Tatamagouche, featuring Ardyth & Jennifer and Blou, and in Lunenburg, featuring Slowcoaster and Peter Allen.

The Bringin' It Home Tour will include performances by 18 different acts in 27 different venues across the province.

The tour marks the first Sherbrooke appearance for Mr. Campbelljohn whose slide guitar work and songwriting have earned him acclaim from Canada's Maple Blues Awards. He has also appeared at Stanfest and on the festival circuit in Germany.

Pictou's Dave Gunning was named roots traditional artist of the year by MIANS in 2003 and filmed his popular video Here She Comes A Runnin' at Sherbrooke Village.

The lineup for the 2004 Courthouse Concert Series will also be unveiled Thursday at the concert.

Tickets for the Bringin' it Home Tour event at the courthouse are $12 and are on sale at the Sherbrooke Village administration office. Call 902-522-2400 or 1-888-743-7845 for more information.

The Sherbrooke Concert is co-sponsored by MIANS and the Historic Sherbrooke Village Development Society.
