Premier Congratulates St. FX

Premier John Hamm extended his congratulations today, March 29, to the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men on their victory at the Canadian Interuniversity Sport men's hockey finals. St. FX defeated the New Brunswick Varsity Reds Sunday with a 3-2 double over-time win.

"This victory speaks volumes to the dedicated coaching of Danny Flynn and to the talent of these young men," said Premier John Hamm. "Over the past number of years, the X-Men have worked very hard and have built a strong team. All Nova Scotians are extremely proud that the University Cup will make its home this year at St. FX.

"Yesterday also marked the first time in history that teams from Atlantic University Sport placed first, second and third in a national event," added the premier. "I would like to congratulate St. FX, the University of New Brunswick, and Dalhousie University on this very strong showing."
