Nova Scotia Products Showcased in Boston
A Nova Scotia seafood entrepreneur, St. Mary's River Smokehouses/Pastaman Wholesale, is one of eight finalists for the new product showcase award at the International Seafood Show being held in Boston, March 14-16.
"This nomination gives excellent exposure to St. Mary's River Smokehouses and their line of products," said Chris d'Entremont, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries. "We are excited for all the Nova Scotia companies that will participate and showcase their products. It is a great marketing opportunity."
The Boston Seafood Show attracts leading manufacturers, distributors and seafood-related companies from all over the world. Several networking and business opportunities are provided over the three days of the show.
"We are delighted to have our smoked salmon ravioli nominated in the new product category," said Dan Turner, director of marketing for St. Mary's River Smokehouses/Pastaman Wholesale. "Our recent merger with Pastaman has allowed us to create cutting edge seafood and pasta opportunities."
The new product showcase award will be presented on Monday, March 15, at the Hynes Convention Center.
This year the Nova Scotia booth includes a new feature to help companies carry out business. A meeting area for Nova Scotia companies has been created within the booth to allow for company- buyer discussions and potential sales contracts to be finalized on site.
"Nova Scotia's seafood is a premium product and the Boston show is an opportune time to share it with the world marketplace," said Mr. d'Entremont.
Nova Scotia companies attending this year's show are: Davis Strait Fisheries and Fisher King Seafoods; St. Mary's River Smokehouses; Inventive Marine Equipment; CanJam Trading; and Enterprise Cape Breton Corp. More than 25 Nova Scotia seafood companies have registered with the Nova Scotia information desk.
