TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Traffic Advisory, Cape Breton Island, Antigonish and Guysborough

Driving conditions remain extremely poor today, Feb. 26, across Cape Breton Island, Antigonish County and in parts of Guysborough County. Motorists are asked to remain off the road until conditions improve.

Blowing snow has created white-outs in many parts of Cape Breton Island and north-eastern Nova Scotia.

Staff from Nova Scotia's Department of Transportation and Public Works report that several roads that were closed in Cape Breton Regional Municipality have been opened.

There is one-lane of escorted traffic across the Canso Causeway.
