MLAs' Salary Review Report Released

The Speaker of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly, Murray Scott, has received the Report of the Commission of Inquiry on Remuneration of MLAs' salaries, indemnities and retiring allowances, which has been prepared by the commissioner, Art Donahoe.

The report contains recommendations that will have to be considered by the House.

"It is apparent that a lot of research, work and effort have gone into this report," said Mr. Scott. "I am aware that Mr. Donahoe has made recommendations regarding administrative structural changes at Province House. Also included in the report are recommendations regarding salaries for future MLAs in Nova Scotia."

The report has been disbursed to all MLAs.
