N.S. FILM DEVELOPMENT CORP.--Viewers Can Pick Their Favourite Shorts

People will be able to vote for their favourite short film from among eight that will be screened at the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation-Empire Theatres Screening Night on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

The Viewers' Choice Award has been created to give filmgoers an opportunity to say what they believe is the best locally produced short film. Shorts being screened include Backjumping, The Dog Walker, Diane in the Rotary, Back of the House, The Garden, Planely Dreaming, Old St. Nick and The Bylaw.

The producer of the film that is selected by the most viewers will win the chance to screen his or her next project at the Oxford Theatre in Halifax.

The film development corporation and Empire Theatres have partnered to bring homegrown film productions to metro. Feature films, documentaries and short films are screened every three months.

The Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation-Empire Theatres Screening Night begins at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at the Oxford Theatre, Quinpool Road. Admission is free.
