New Staff in Higher Education
The Department of Education has a new senior executive director for its higher education branch. Wayne Doggett was appointed to the position beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1.
Mr. Doggett has spent most of his 22 years in Nova Scotia's public service in the Department of Education. He has had research, planning, policy and evaluation roles related to both the public school and post-secondary systems.
A graduate of Acadia and Oxford universities, Mr. Doggett has taught economics at Acadia and served for six years as Nova Scotia's representative on the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission.
"Mr. Doggett brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position," said Dennis Cochrane, deputy minister of Education. "I know he is looking forward to working with our partners to build a stronger Nova Scotia through our investments in students, universities and the community college."
Mr. Doggett is replacing Susan Clark, who left the department in June to take the position of vice-president academic and provost at Trent University.
