Acadian Lines Applies for License Amendments
UTILITY/REVIEW BOARD--Acadian Lines Applies for License Amendments
Acadian Lines Limited has applied to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board for permission to amend its license by changing student fares and adding a new Friday service between Halifax and Kentville.
The application says Acadian Lines wants to remove the student travel pack and increase the current fare discount from 20 per cent to 25 per cent on return fares. The amended license would mean that the student fare to any Maritime destination would be discounted by 10 per cent one way and by 25 per cent discount on all return fares. The amendment would also mean there are no restrictions on the day of travel.
The application also requests an amendment to the license that would result in adding a Friday service on trips 75 and 76 between Halifax and Kentville.
A hearing into the proposed amendments will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 9:30 a.m. at the office of the Utility and Review Board, on the third floor of Summit Place, 1601 Lower Water St., in Halifax. Any member of the public is entitled to attend the hearing.
Anyone wishing to present evidence or to cross-examine witnesses must file notice with the board not later than Sept. 24.
Anyone wishing to make comments about the proposed amendments may do so by forwarding a letter to the clerk of the board at Box 1692, Unit M, Halifax, N.S. B3J 3S3, by e-mail at [email protected] by calling the clerk at 902-424-4448 or by fax at 902-424-3919.
