Province to Lower Flags in Commemoration on Sept. 11
PREMIER'S OFFICE--Province to Lower Flags in Commemoration on Sept. 11
Premier John Hamm announced that all flags on provincial government buildings will be lowered to half-mast this Thursday in remembrance of the lives lost and the people affected by the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
"It is important that we remember the great loss suffered two years ago by our American neighbours," said the premier. "We wish to let the people of the United States know that Nova Scotians share their grief on this sad day."
"All Nova Scotians should also take a moment to give thanks for the freedom and safety we enjoy and for all the blessings in our lives."
Premier Hamm is urging all Nova Scotia businesses, schools, municipal governments and not-for-profit organizations to also lower their flags to half-mast in remembrance on Sept. 11.
