Work Awarded on Trunk 4

Trunk 4 near River Bourgeois in Richmond County is receiving a $1 million paving job this year.

The work will take place on Trunk 4 from the south side of River Bourgeois Road, easterly to Highway 104, about 7.6 kilometres.

"This significant upgrade will improve service to the communities served by this road," said Ron Russell, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "We're following through on the commitments we've made to residents."

Dexter Construction was awarded the contract, with a completion date of Oct. 31. Work has already begun.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains an inventory of 3,800 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices located in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
