MLA Pin

In 2001, a distinctive pin was designed to recognize the election of members to the Legislative Assembly.

The first 54 pins were issued in November 2001 to MLAs elected in the 1999 election and two subsequent byelections. The numbered pins were distributed in order based on length of service.

The gold and blue pin features the House of Assembly crest in the middle with the words "Member Legislative Assembly, Nova Scotia" around the outside.

The pin was presented to 14 new and two returning MLAs during the swearing in ceremony today, Sept. 4. MLAs signed the Register of Insignia as they received their pins.
