Road Improvements in Annapolis County

TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Road Improvements in Annapolis County

An eight-kilometre section of road in Annapolis County will soon provide a smoother ride for Nova Scotia drivers.

The section of Trunk 10, from the Lunenburg County line northerly to Ridge Road, is receiving a $1.1 million repaving job.

"This project is a continuation of upgrades to Trunk 10 between Bridgewater and Middleton," said Ron Russell, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "We're pleased to be able to continue this project and work towards our commitment of better roads in Nova Scotia."

The project was awarded to Dexter Construction Co. Ltd. The work has started and will be complete by the end of October.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains an inventory of 3,800 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices located in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
