Nova Scotia Honours Peacekeepers

Saturday, Aug. 9 has been proclaimed Peacekeeping Day in Nova Scotia.

Further to the provincial resolution introduced in the House of Assembly on May 14, Premier John Hamm proclaimed Aug. 9 to honour the men and women who dedicate their lives to establishing and maintaining peace.

"It's important for us to thank peacekeepers for their dedication and to remember those who have given their lives while protecting others," Premier Hamm said.

The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre in Clementsport, Annapolis Co., has organized and participated in activities to commemorate the proclamation.
