Cease and Desist Order

Labour Relations Board

The Construction Industry Panel of the Labour Relations Board announced today, July 23, that it has taken action to end an illegal work stoppage which commenced on Tuesday, July 22.

The illegal work stoppage occurred at the Wal-Mart construction project in Amherst and involves a number of employees of G&M Masonry Limited. These employees are represented by the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, Local 1-NS.

The complaint filed today requests that the panel issue a cease and desist order against certain members of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, Local 1-NS, who are participating in the illegal work stoppage..

The panel has issued an interim order directing the members participating in an illegal work stoppage to cease and desist and to return to work at their next regularly scheduled shift.
