Wildlife Park Receives Support
A local tourist attraction is receiving much-deserved support from Nova Scotia Economic Development. The Two Rivers Wildlife Park in Marion Bridge will receive $20,000, Economic Development Minister Cecil Clarke announced today, June 24.
"This park is an important draw for tourists," said Mr. Clarke. "The community has raised over $100,000 to ensure it continues operation. The Two Rivers Development Association has invested $500,000 in additional amenities and attractions. We believe it is important to demonstrate our support as well."
The Two Rivers Wildlife Park now offers everything from wildlife tours to sleigh rides and is focusing on becoming a 12-month wildlife and leisure park facility.
The funding being provided by the provincial government will be allocated for feed and veterinarian services to ensure the care being provided to the animals is in keeping with standards set by the Department of Natural Resources.
"The Two Rivers Development Association has made great strides in upgrading and marketing the park," said Mr. Clarke. "We're pleased to play a role in sustaining the jobs associated with the park, and this unique recreational and leisure facility."
