Premier Congratulates Bishop Lahey

Premier John Hamm congratulated Bishop Raymond Lahey on his formal installation at St. Ninian's Cathedral in Antigonish.

"It is a privilege to have Bishop Lahey join St. Ninian's," Premier John Hamm said. "His extensive background will be a welcome addition to the Roman Catholic faith community in Nova Scotia."

Since August of 1986, Bishop Lahey served as See of the Diocese of St. George's in Newfoundland. He has an extensive background in education, both as a student and an educator, including post- doctoral studies in church history at the University of Cambridge, England.
