N.S. LIQUOR CORP.--NSLC Refers Investigation to the Halifax Regional Police
The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC) has asked Halifax Regional Police to investigate allegations regarding the awarding of a contract.
Peter McCreath, chair of the corporation, said the NSLC received a complaint from a participant in a bid for a contract and conducted an internal investigation and audit.
"We received the final results of that investigation this week," said Mr. McCreath. "I have taken this action on behalf of the board, with the full support of our president, Andy Barker, and with the knowledge and concurrence of Ron Russell, Minister responsible for the Liquor Control Act."
Mr. McCreath said to date there have been no related suspensions or dismissals.
In view of the police investigation, the NSLC will make no further comments at this time.
