Work Awarded on New Ross Road

New Ross Road in Hants County is receiving a $1.2 million repaving job.

The work will take place on New Ross Road from Trunk 14 to the Lunenburg County line, about 8.7 kilometres.

"This is another important upgrade to our road network," said Michael Baker, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "This work will help the community and surrounding area."

The work was awarded to Dexter Construction Co. Ltd. It is to be completed by Aug. 31.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains an inventory of 3,800 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from four district offices located in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
