Access Awareness Week Proclaimed

Community Services Minister David Morse has proclaimed Access Awareness Week, May 26 to June 1, on behalf of Premier John Hamm.

A ceremony was held at Province House to launch the week that profiles prominent issues for persons with disabilities. This is the 16th year for Access Awareness Week in Nova Scotia.

"There are many dedicated people throughout the province working towards one common goal -- an accessible province for all Nova Scotians," said the minister. "This year's Access Awareness Week encourages all Nova Scotians to reflect on the advancements the province as a whole has made and to look forward to more positive changes in the creation of an increasingly inclusive society."

The Partnership for Access Awareness Nova Scotia has organized a number of events throughout the province. A list of Access Awareness Week events can be found on the Web site at accessawareness.nsnet.org .
