Dartmouth Firm Does Business in Houston
Hector Jacques arrived in Houston last week ready to do business at the 2003 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). After three days at one of the industry's biggest events, the chairman of Jacques Whitford is celebrating a number of international opportunities in the works.
"We're bringing the expertise we've gained in the North Atlantic offshore to countries around the world," said Mr. Jacques today, May 7. "That's the real key to developing our industry here in Nova Scotia, becoming globally competitive -- something Jacques Whitford continues to develop."
The Dartmouth-based company will be conducting environmental research for a large multi-national firm. The company has also partnered with Dartmouth-based Frontline Safety Ltd. to conduct comprehensive health, safety and environmental assessments for an exploration well in the Arabian Sea.
"This is exactly why we're here at OTC," said Energy Minister Ernest Fage. "By working with Nova Scotia businesses, helping to promote Nova Scotia's offshore oil and gas industry at these major international conferences, we're making real progress in getting our message out to this global market."
