Campbell Will Be Dearly Missed

Premier's Office

Premier John Hamm expressed his deepest condolences today on the passing of former MLA Bill Campbell on April 9.

Mr. Campbell was elected as MLA for Colchester North in 1978 and became Nova Scotia's ombudsman in 1982. He was also enrolled in the Canadian Army from 1939 to 1969, where he served in the Second World War.

"Bill was a gentle man who worked hard for the people of Colchester North, as well as the people of Canada," said Premier Hamm. "His time as MLA, councillor and colonel makes him a true icon in Nova Scotia's history. Bill will be dearly missed and my thoughts are with his family and friends."

Mr. Campbell was 83 years old and leaves behind wife, Enid, who resides in Tatamagouche.
