Traffic Advisory, Flooding Update
The following is a partial update on road and bridge closures and reopenings in various counties, due to flooding, as of 4 p.m. Thursday, April 3.
Drivers are asked to use caution on all roads and bridges and obey all traffic signs and barricades.
The Department of Transportation and Public Works appreciates your patience as road conditions return to normal.
ANTIGONISH COUNTY:
The following roads are closed in Antigonish County: Addington Forks; and Addington Forks Extension. Detours are available.
CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY:
Bourinot Road is closed.
COLCHESTER COUNTY:
The following roads in Colchester County are closed: Route 336 at Eastville; Springside Cross Road; Brenton Cross Road; and Pembrook Road.
The Subway, connecting Truro and Bible Hill, is expected to reopen by Friday, April 4.
CUMBERLAND COUNTY:
The following roads in Cumberland County are closed: Beecham Road, Mount Whatley Road, and Joe Bert Road.
DIGBY COUNTY:
The following roads in Clare, Digby Co., are closed: Harrington Road, paved section; Deveau Shore Road, bridge washed out; Bonnie Road, gravel section; Bangor Road, east of Placide Comeau Road; C. F. Comeau Road, at C. F. Comeau bridge; Dick Theriault Road, southeast of Highway 101.
Norwood Road is passable with caution.
GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY:
The following roads are closed: Upper Glencoe Road; Old Monastery Road; North Odgen Road, closed beyond the last residence; Old Welsh Road; Sullivan Road; and Guysborough Country Harbour Road.
The following roads in Guysborough County are open to local traffic only: Upper Big Tracadie Road; Lower Water Street; and Old Riverside Road.
The following roads are passable with caution: Lower Glencoe Road; Doyles Loop; South Merlin Road; Heatherton Road; Cross Road at Guysborough Intervale; Afton Road; North Riverside Road; Tompkinsville Road; Lucas Branch; Moose Point Road, closed to one lane; and West Side Country Harbour Road.
Two sections of the Antigonish Guysborough Road, in the Roman Valley area, are reopened and are passable with caution. Other sections of this road, in the Intervale area, are closed.
Sutherland's Bridge on Route 348 in Glenelg is closed for repairs until further notice.
PICTOU COUNTY:
The following roads in Pictou County are closed: Route 374 at Lorne; Route 289, east of Colchester/Pictou County line; Powell Road; Graveyard Road; G. MacKenzie Road; E. Fraser Cross Road; White Hill Road; Concord Road; and MacGrath Road.
KINGS COUNTY:
The following roads in Kings County are closed: Route 359 at Halls Harbour, detour on West Halls Harbour Road; Bishopville Road, detour on Davidson Street; and Gaspereau River Road, detour on Highway 101 or Davidson Street.
LUNENBURG COUNTY:
Trunk 10 in Lunenburg County is reopened.
SHELBURNE COUNTY:
All roads in Shelburne County are open at the present time.
YARMOUTH COUNTY:
Route 308 in Quinan, Yarmouth Co., is reopened to light traffic.
