TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Traffic Advisory, Flooding Update for Various Counties

The following is an update on road and bridge closures and reopenings in various counties, due to flooding, as of 10 a.m. today, April 3.

Drivers are asked to use caution on all roads and bridges and obey all traffic signs and barricades.

ANNAPOLIS COUNTY

The following roads are closed:

Highway 101, Exit 22 at Annapolis to Exit 24 at Bear River. A detour is available on River Road in Digby, Clementsvale Road and/or Virginia Road (trucks) to Trunk 8.

Trunk 1 closed at Clementsport (Shaw Span).

Tupperville Road is now closed.

Also closed are: East Dalhousie Road; The bridge is closed on Mount Hanley (south)in Brickton; Clem Road; Lily Lake Road; Young's Mountain Road; West Dalhousie, gravel section between Morse Road and Spurr Road; Northfield; Guinea; and Middle Road, sections of the road are impassable.

The following roads are now open: Trunk 1 between Brickton and Lawrencetown; Route 201 between Lawrencetown and Bridgetown; Trout Lake Road in Albany passable with caution; McKenzie Mountain Road; Spurr Road, south of Highway 101; Ruggles, Dodge and Chute roads passable with caution; and Cape and Sand.

Crisp Road expected to open later today.

Trunk 10 in Annapolis County is open.

DIGBY COUNTY

The following roads in the Municipality of Digby are closed:
Sissiboo Road (MacDonald Bridge); and River Road, Indian Hill to Morganville.

The following roads are now open: Old Shelburne; South Range Cross; Riverview; Fort Point; Jordantown Cross Road; Gilbert Cove (open to last house); Parker (open to last house); Barnes Lake; Thomas (open to last house); Tom Wallace (open to last house); Old North Range; Bayview; and Danvers.

The following roads are passable with caution: Morganville; Bloomfield; and Ridge Road.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY

The following roads are still closed: Route 224 at Elmsvale (bridge is out); Route 357, north of Crawfords Bridge; Sibley Road, but there is access to the waste transfer station; Higgins Lake Road; John Grant Back Road; Wyse Road; Dillman Road and Cole Road.

Roads in the Chezzetcook area are passable.

HANTS COUNTY

About 300 metres of the North River Road in East Hants is closed, from Route 236. Access is available from Scotch Village Road.

LUNENBURG COUNTY

Trunk 10 in Lunenburg County is expected to be open no later than Friday, April 4.

PICTOU COUNTY

Route 374, the Stellarton Trafalgar Road, from Lorne to the Sanctuary Gate, is closed until further notice.

REGION OF QUEENS MUNICIPALITY

The following roads and bridges are closed: Charleston Bridge; Banges Falls Bridge; and Medway River Road.

A portion of Chapel Hill Drive is closed to traffic in the Greenfield area.

Trunk 8 between South Brookfield and Caledonia is open.

Westfield Road including bridge in Caledonia is open.

The bridge on Old Westfield Road next to McGowan Lake is restricted to 2,500 kilograms.
