TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Traffic Advisories, Update for Hants County and Halifax Regional Municipality

The following is an update on road closures, due to flooding, in Hants County and Halifax Regional Municipality as of 8:30 a.m. today, April 2.

HANTS COUNTY
Trunk 2, adjacent to Elmsdale Lumber, is closed to through traffic. However, there is local access from each direction.

Bennery Road and Old Rock Road in East Hants are closed.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY
Route 357, Elderbank to Middle Musquodoboit, is closed. A detour is available on Chaswood Hills Road.

Route 224, Middle Musquodoboit to Upper Musquodoboit, is closed. A detour is available on Higginsville.

The following roads are closed, but are accessible from both ends to the point of blockage: Cooks Brook Road; Lake Egmont East; McMullin Road; John Grant Brook Road; Cole Road; Caribou Road; Lemmon Hill Road; Wyse Road; Narrows Road; Elderbank Back Road; Sibley Road.

Mountain Road and Higgins Road are closed. No detour is available.

Route 306 near Grand Lake is closed. All residences in the area are accessible from Route 306 to the point of closure. Sambro is accessible on Route 349.

Lynwood Drive is closed at the entrance.

The culvert on Peters Falls Run under Lynwood Drive is washed out. There is currently no access to residents; current plans are to place a temporary Bailey Bridge by Sunday, April 6. Officials are considering the possibility of allowiing access on foot.
