Traffic Advisories, Update for Eastern Nova Scotia

TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Traffic Advisories, Update for Eastern Nova Scotia


The following is an update on road closures, due to flooding, in various counties in Eastern Nova Scotia as of 8:30 a.m. today, April 2.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY

The following roads are closed:
Trunk 7, Aspen, Stillwater, Sherbrooke. A detour is available on Route 316,276 and 211; Route 348 in Glenelg; Sullivan's Bridge is closed for six weeks; Hospital Road; Waternish, expected to reopen today; Lead Mines, may reopen later today; Cameron Settlement; Goshen Fisher's Mills; Cheese Factory; West Side Lochiel Lake; Country Harbour, may be reopened Thursday, April 3 or Friday, April 4; South Merland; Antigonish-Guysborough Road -- a detour is available on Afton and North Riverside roads. Gravel section of Antigonish-Guysborough Road has various areas that are reduced to one lane.

The following roads have been reopened:
West Liscomb; College Road, passable with caution; MacKeen Road; Glenelg Church; Cross roads; Upper Glencoe;


ANTIGONISH COUNTY
The following roads are closed: Clydesdale Road, may reopen Thursday, April 3; West Lakevale, expected to reopen today; Beauly Black Avon; Mill Road; St. Joseph's; Addington Forks Extension; Mayfield; Ohio East, closed near the last residence; West Side Lochaber;

The following roads have been reopened:
Big Marsh, passable with caution; Glebe Road, passable with caution; MacDonald Road; Marl Pit; Old Maryvale; Heatherton Guysborough, passable with caution; Keppoch, passable on one lane; Ohio Lake; MacMaster.

Baddeck Area:
In Inverness North, the following roads will reopen today: Sight Point Road; MacLellans Road; Loch Ban Road; East Big Interval Road; Pipers Glen Road.

Port Hawkesbury Area:
There are no major routes or highways closed and no bridge closures.

Secondary roads are all passable except for Orangedale Iona, Whycocamagh-Port Hood, SS River Deny's, Mountain Road, Stirling Road and Barry Hill.

Big Harbour Road is not passable.

Sydney Area:
Gouthro Road is closed and is expected to reopen late today, April 2, or early Thursday. Bourinot Road is closed.
