TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS--Traffic Advisories, Road and Bridge Closures

The following is a partial list of roads and bridges that have been closed today, March 31, as a result of heavy rain and flooding.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution, use alternate routes and watch for washed-out shoulders.

Damaged or flooded roads that are not marked can be reported to local bases by calling 1-888-432-3238.

ANNAPOLIS COUNTY:

The following structures and roads are closed: three structures on Trunk 1 (at Annapolis/Kings County line, Brickton, Clementsport); Trunk 10 (Middleton Bridge); Route 201 (Paradise Lane); Mt. Hanley (South end) structure; Hampton Wharf Road (structure); East Dalhousie Road; Lily Lake Road; Middle Road (west end); Trout Lake (Albany) Road; Cape and Sand Road; Sunnyvale Road; Ruggles; Dodge; Chute; Clem; Crisp; Guinea (structure); Litchfield (structure); West Dalhousie (Lequille - Spurr Road); Northfield; Spurr Road (south end); Young's Mountain; MacKenzie Monutain.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY:

Clydesdale Road is closed to traffic due to a washed-out culvert.

COLCHESTER COUNTY:

In Bible Hill, Park Street is closed and Main street at the railway underpass is closed due to flooding. Route 236 from Truro to Goss Bridge is closed. Trunk 2 in Bass River area is closed. Route 336 between Newton Mills and Eastville is closed.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY:

Route 224 in Elmsvale, between Moose River Road and Middle Musquodoboit, is closed.

Highway 118, from Exit 13 westbound to Highway 111, will be closed for a few hours.

Lynnwood Drive off Route 306 is closed.

HANTS COUNTY:

The bridge on East Uniacke Road in East Hants is closed due to flooding. A detour is available on the Beaverbank Road and South Rawdon Road.

KINGS COUNTY:

Route 358 at Canning Mountain, and the Stewart Mountain Road is closed. Route 359 at Halls Harbour is flooded and in danger of washout. Trunk 1 at Kentville, Brooklyn Street at Kentville, North River Road and Bishopville Road are closed. Prospect Road at New Minas may be closed.

LUNENBURG COUNTY:

Trunk 10 is closed from New Germany to Cookville. A detour is available for cars and light trucks. Heavy trucks are advised to use Trunk 8 or 12.

PICTOU COUNTY:

Route 289 at Union Centre is closed as well as sections of Route 376, Three Brooks Road and sections of Scotsburn Road plus Route 348, Bridgeville Road, St. Pauls Road and East Fraser Road are closed.

YARMOUTH COUNTY:

The following roads are closed: Brenton Cross, North Ohio, Depot and Cedar Lake.
